In the course, the basics of nutrition science will be covered, including the macronutrients carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, as well as vitamins, minerals, and water. We will explore where these nutrients come from, their roles in the body, and the symptoms of deficiencies. Emphasis will be placed on teaching students how to make healthy food choices, and the course will also address weight-loss diets and metabolism. Additionally, there will be an examination of the nutritional needs of specific groups such as athletes, pregnant women, infants, and the elderly, as well as the connections between nutrition and various diseases.

Assessments: Final excam: 25% (open book excam) and 75% assignments.
